The Technical Installation of SAP Products enables you to outsource all the work associated with the technical installation of your Customer's SAP®  System to Global Online Partners™ service specialists.

 

The Technical Installation of SAP Products includes the following activities:

 

  • Checking on all technical prerequisites (such as hardware requirements) in the preparation phase and after the project has begun

 

  • Performing all activities listed in the SAP Installation guidelines

 

  • Completing the Installation

 

  • Executing Post-Installation activities

 

  • Initial adjustment of system logs and profile parameters

 

At the end of the project the SAP Partner receives a detailed report that lists all the activities carried out during the Installation and this can be used as a sign-off document for your final customer.

When Should the Service Be Used?

 

The Technical Installation of SAP Products is usually performed during the "Implementation" phase, but can be attained during any phase of the Solution Lifecycle. For proper applicability we recommend that you verify that your customer:

 

  • Is at the appropriate time during their first SAP® implementation project or,

 

  • Wants to implement a separate SAP® solution or,

 

  • Wants to extend their systems landscape and,

 

  • Does not need to build up in-house knowledge for occasional system installations

Service Scope

 

Global Online Partners will provide:

 

  • Installation of the SAP system including all mandatory instances (Database, Central and Dialog) with the selected Database Management System (Oracle, SQLserver, Sybase or DB2) for one of the following server systems:

 

- Development System (DEV)

- Quality Assurance System (QAS)

- Production System (PROD)

- Solution Manager (SOLMAN)

 

  • Documentation of installation events, including logs and all passwords set during the installation process.

 

  • Execution of the post-installation activities as specified in the SAP Installation Guides corresponding to the product versions of installed SAP software.

Availability and Cost

 

The Technical Installation of SAP Products is available as a private-label service for SAP Partners. The service is rendered by Global Online Partners' regional Service Center.

 

The Technical Installation of SAP Products must be purchased separately and is offered by Global Online Partners at an attractive fixed price. Related services outside the basic scope can be supplied as a Standard Service when available or on a time and materials basis.

 

Based on our experience the average duration of the Technical Installation of SAP Products is about three to seven days, depending on the number of dialog instances and the hardware configuration.
